An EPK is an
Electronic Press Kit (CD-ROM or
DVD); a digitally produced introduction to an
artist. It consists of behind-the-scenes
coverage, informal interviews, visuals, and
snippets of music that make up the daily world of
the particular artists in their environment. EPK's
are
generally designed to introduce an artist to a
new audience. Record labels
produce EPK's for use as sound bites,
interviews, and advertising, to help viewers get to
know an artist.
The EPK can consist of
3 parts:
Artist Diary: $500 -
$1,000+

Digital diary covers a few
days to a shooting week. The aim is to capture
the artists in their environment. (Studio sessions,
tracks arrangements, etc.) |

Also, we add snippets of a live performance,
if available
(venue size does not matter). |

The artist talks to
the camera, MTV style. We
perform interviews of family,
friends, and fans. A photographic session can be
organized by our team. We follow the
artist's path, from
roads to record labels. |
3 Videos In 1: $1400+ (includes 50 DVDs or 100
CDs)
| A music video is shot in DV, preferably two
cameras. |
| The artist selects 3 songs and we create three
treatments (we only shoot a verse or
verse/chorus of each song). |
| The second camera catches pick up shots,
atmosphere and foreground elements, as well as
behind-the-scenes, "making-of" style. |
The one to three pieces are then cut together
with interview snippets, creating a five to
seven minute Long Form Video.
Full EPK: $2750+ (includes 100 DVDs or 100 CDs)
A combination of the first two packages. This is
what is considered as an official EPK by all
standards.
The advantage is that you can submit
this yourself to TV stations as record labels
would. It should be between 7 to 15 minutes long,
but it can be edited down to whatever you need.
